Members
The members of the Oval Learning Trust are the subscribers to the trust’s memorandum of association, and any other individuals permitted to become members under its articles of association. Members have an overview of the governance arrangements of the trust and have the power to appoint trustees and remove these trustees. We are a fully inclusive MAT with partnership opportunities for both Church and Community schools. We therefore have a majority of 3 Members who are Diocesan representatives.

Mrs Vicki Giffard is currently an independent consultant working with primary schools across the East Midlands. I specialise in Mathematics and am a ‘Professional Development Lead’ for the NCETM (National Centre for the Excellence in Teaching Mathematics), as well as being a member of the primary working group for the mathematics subject associations. She runs CPD work groups for two local Maths Hubs. She began her career as a primary school teacher and also worked for many years for the Leicestershire School Improvement Service. In addition, she has been involved in Initial Teacher Training, through both lecturing at the University of Leicester and taking on a tutor role for students on placement.
Dr Paul Heery is the Chief Executive Officer of The White Hills Park Trust. He has had almost 20 years’ experience of Headship, including at primary, middle and secondary academy level. He has been a School Improvement Partner for over 20 schools, a Local Authority Senior Academy Improvement Adviser and managed the Primary Strategy for Leicestershire County Council. All schools he has led have improved their Ofsted ratings and have been taken to Good or equivalent, including one school that required Special Measures when he took up post. He is a Lead Inspector for Ofsted and inspects both primary and secondary phases. He has a Masters Degree and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
