Governors
The Governors in our trust both on the Board of Directors and in our Local Governing Bodies are truly committed individuals.
We are really lucky to have individuals who give their time generously to our Trust and bring a wide range of experiences and skill-sets both to the full board of trustees and to our local governing bodies as well.
We invest much time in supporting and developing governors to support their schools and the trust supports them with bespoke training to ensure leadership is strong at all levels.
We have provided training for governors on data and also finance as well as bespoke support for moderation.
Our regular CEO and Chairs meetings are really well attended and offer the opportunity for all Chairs to have an open and honest dialogue with the CEO about life in our MAT. This is also an opportunity for Chairs of Governors to seek support from each other and contribute to policy decisions as well.
We are always looking for clear succession planning for governance so if anyone out there who is working, or has worked in business has some time to give, we always welcome new governors with a skill or experience to share.
We warmly welcomed all of our Directors and Local Governing Body governors for a conference with Leora Cruddas from the Confederation of School Trusts who facilitated a dialogue with our governing teams.
This session provided governance at all levels an opportunity to contribute to our Trust strategy and to share some wider thinking about our agreed 'collective efficacy' for what governance looks like at its best. The opportunity to sit back and reflect on the features of strong governance as a golden thread of connectivity from school communities to Board room, was valued by everyone and formed an important part of the renewed strategy, the trust plans for growth as well as for governance.
