Suzanne Uprichard has been a governor since 2002 and a designated National Leader of Governance since January 2014.  She sits on governing boards in primary and secondary schools, both maintained and academies as well as chairing the management committee of Leicestershire County Council’s Pupil Referral Unit.  She has chaired the trust board of a 14-school Church MAT.  She represents school governance on the Leicestershire Education Excellence Partnership.

 

As an NLG, she undertakes external reviews of governance, supports chairs of governors and governing boards and chairs Interim Executive Boards when requested to do so by Local Authorities and the Department for Education.  This may be to prevent a Warning Notice or Financial Notice to Improve being issued or after one has been issued.  She supports schools in the process of converting to an academy and joining MATs.

 

She is a member of Leicester Cathedral’s Finance Committee and Capital Fund and is chairman of the Alderman Newton Educational Foundation, a grant giving charity in Leicester.

 

Vicki Giffard is currently an independent consultant working with primary schools across the East Midlands. I specialise in Mathematics and am a ‘Professional Development Lead’ for the NCETM (National Centre for the Excellence in Teaching Mathematics), as well as being a member of the primary working group for the mathematics subject associations. She runs CPD work groups for two local Maths Hubs. She began her career as a primary school teacher and also worked for many years for the Leicestershire School Improvement Service.  In addition, she has been involved in Initial Teacher Training, through both lecturing at the University of Leicester and taking on a tutor role for students on placement. 

She has been involved in school governance for the past ten years and was chair for six of those, before becoming a Director of the Trust.

 

Karen Allen been a teacher in Leicestershire for almost 30 years, and a headteacher for 15. She is currently executive headteacher over two large schools, Burbage CofE Infant and Burbage Junior Schools. Her headship experience has involved a range of contexts, including being the first of two co-heads in Leicestershire, nine months as an interim head supporting a school through significant challenges, and leading one of her current schools from a double "requires improvement" Ofsted judgement to "good" in  October 2019. She is chair of governors at St Simon and St Jude Primary School, and sits on the management board of Oakfield Short Stay School (Pupil Referral Unit). Since 2016 she has been chair of Leicestershire Primary Headteachers (LPH), a support organisation of 170 Leicestershire Primary Schools.  She is also the chair of Leicestershire Schools Forum, and sits on Leicestershire Education Excellence Partnership (LEEP). 

 

Mark Bailey is a highly accomplished business leader, with a successful career in the Aerospace and Power & Propulsion Industries operating as a member of the senior leadership team at the U.K. FTSE100 company, Rolls-Royce plc.  Forward thinking, he has a proven track record of developing, implementing and governing strategies to grow business globally, delivering tangible results and advising on the entry to new markets. He has led the commercialisation of state-of-the-art engineering and digital technologies creating innovative business models and transforming customer experience and loyalty to ensure sustainable business growth. One of his core strengths lies within developing diverse and highly functioning teams. He emphasises the growth of all under his leadership, ensuring that they are supported in achieving their potential within business and his ability to mentor and coach teams and individuals is proven to foster highly productive working environments. Within a board environment, Mark is adept at gaining consensus against the backdrop of a disparate group of voices. He provides thoughtful, independent advice, constructive challenge and leads as appropriate, maintaining a strong focus on the needs of the customer.  Mark is now using his experience in non-executive, independent consulting and higher education advisory roles.

 

Donna Moulds is an experienced headteacher having supported schools as an LLE through a Teaching School Alliance and also having worked for LEEP to coordinate and encourage collaboration and system leadership across schools. This also included extensive work to improve leadership provision for disadvantaged pupils with coordinated work to facilitate specialism in schools as PP reviewers. She has worked as Subject Expert and facilitator for NPQSL and NPQH mentoring new Headteachers and is an Ofsted Inspector.

Top
